Fairfield Lake State Park is still open and doing great with abundant wildlife, fun activities and great fishing.

Deer, otters, beavers, snakes, bugs and many other things call Fairfield Lake their home. The deer population is amazing with one doe even having triplets this year, and many others have twins.

There are even otter pups. Did I mention OTTER PUPS?

Fisherman speak of how much better the Bass fishing has become in the last few years, and a YouTuber comes out to Fairfield to fish for Blue Gill aka Perch. He took an inflatable boat he acquired on pumpupboats.com/top-inflatable-boats/ and tried water skiing an the lake!

If you do not have your own gear, the Park has a loaner program. You do need to provide your own tackle though. Thankfully they keep a small selection in the Park Store.

Bank fishing does not require a fishing license either, but fishing from your boat does.

Hunting and Fishing licenses are sold inside the State Park Store.

Children and adults too, can enjoy a steady stream of activities varying from the Blacklight Night Hikes every Saturday in October to the Ornament Workshop held December 7th and 20th.

Day access is only $4 a person with children under 12 being free. You can launch your boat from one of two boat ramps, take a swim or rent a Kayak or a Paddleboard from the Paddle EZ Rentals offered at Fairfield Lake.

Still need more? Great, there are four campsites throughout the park.

Big Brown Creek Primitive Camping Area is three and a half mile hike-in primitive campsites where you pack out everything you pack in. No water or electricity, so make sure you take your water backpack to stay hydrated out there. These campsites are only $10.00 per night. Personally, we prefer teepee tents when family camping. Going camping and cleanliness seems to be almost opposite goals. After all, the very act of camping means going out into nature, living with the animals, subjecting yourself to the elements and cooking, eating and sleeping on the ground. Nonetheless, cleanliness throughout your campout experience is crucial both to the day in, day out life in camp and to your health and mental serenity throughout the time you are “roughing it”. The actual challenge of camping is finding ways to have a good quality of life without many of he niceties that our modern lifestyle affords us. For the most part, few of us go camping because we have to. We camp for recreation and probably for relatively short periods of time. Nevertheless good hygiene and camp cleanliness is essential for everyone’s well being and to assure that you stay organized and go bed each night knowing you camped well. As with anything that leads to your success in camping, preparation makes the difference. Part of being prepared for camping and making it possible for you to stay clean over several days in camp comes from knowing what to expect. So check the weather forecast for the area where you will be camping so that if there is rain predicted, you can come prepared to clean up some wet and muddy campers. But even if the forecast is clear and dry, it always pays to be prepared for any sudden change in the weather while camping. So there are some things you should always do for every campout to keep your camp site clean and your campers that way too. Here you can easily get the Best tent for 2 persons, do visit. Sometimes in excitement and sometimes for flaunting off energy or enthusiasm, trekkers begin the expedition by walking fast. However, they miss the point that the faster you walk the sooner you get exhausted, lose breath and gradually the pace gets down. It’s better if you keep a slow pace and complete the trek with much ease. If you want to know more about the trekking essentials, then visit us here.

Good camping gear can help you maintain some level of civilized cleanliness during the campout. A well sealed tent can keep water out so even if some dust and dirt gets inside, it won’t turn your tent interior into a mudslide. Also bring plenty of cleaning supplies to ripe down tables, clean up dirty tent floors and to clean up campers as well. Other than that, the best preparation is going to the camp site knowing full well that your camping crew is going to get dirty and being ready to clean them up for meals and bedtime.

Summer camps and day camps provide a way by which young people can spend their summer vacation experiencing new adventures and meeting new friends. Studies have shown that these camps are very effective in making children appreciate the value of independence and teamwork. They have also been proven to help children relate better with other people. However, there are other types of camps that offer a different experience to those that enroll in them. Some examples of these are weight loss camps that help young people with weight problems through exercise and diet programs. Other examples of these types of camps are boot camps, which are camps that offer military-type training to their campers.

Boot camps

Boot camps are training camps that last for about two to four weeks, which are designed for special purposes and which are handled by people trained to extract the best performance from campers. These camps usually have the same harsh conditions that can be found in military camps where recruits are pushed both physically and mentally to test and build discipline, leadership and comradeship. Given this, some organizations have found a way to use boot camps for various purposes that fit their requirements.

Special boot camps

An example of a specific purpose boot camps can serve is the way local governments use them to rehabilitate juvenile offenders as part of their program. Other examples include boot camps for brides and would-be parents, which are designed to help people prepare for the responsibilities that they are about to face. Companies also use these boot camps for their workers for the purpose of encouraging teamwork and for training. However, the effects of these boot camps are subject to debate especially for those who advocate positive reinforcement as a means to instill discipline among people.

Boot camps are special kinds of camps that are designed to push a camper to his physical and mental limit as a way to build character, discipline, teamwork and other values. Going through this kind of experience has made it easier for people to remember what they have learned and to apply them in their daily lives. Given this, various organizations have now used specialized boot camps that help them with their needs such as how local governments use them to help in the rehabilitation of young offenders.

Springfield Camping Area is in the back of the park. It is a newly remodeled campground with water only sites that looks beautiful. $15.00 a night is all it takes to stay here.
