The Cayuga Wildcats built a 26-0 lead and endured a weather delay and shut out the Wortham Bulldogs 32-0 at Bulldog Stadium Friday night.

Cayuga scored on the first drive of the night taking advantage of a blocked punt. Beginning at the Bulldog 23, Wildcat quarterback Eli Lust rolled right and passed to Cody Hearrall for the nine-yard touchdown and the early 6-0 lead.

The Wildcats hit on the big play on their next possession. Following a Bulldog punt, Hearrall escaped on a 60-yard touchdown run and the Wildcat lead grew to 12-0. Robert Buckley added a touchdown run from 14 yards out and another short three-yard run for the 26-0 halftime lead.

The second half began late with a lightning delay and they put a final touchdown before the end of the third quarter. Lust hit Chase Cooper with a 23-yard touchdown pass and set the final score 32-0.

The game ended with eight minutes to go in the game when an injury called for the completion and the weather was also a factor and the game was called and Cayuga claimed a 32-0 lead.

On the final possession about the time the game ended, Bulldog running back broke loose on a 29-yard run that put the Bulldogs in Wildcat territory for the only time on the evening.

Wortham will return home on Friday night when they host winless Crossroads at Bulldog Stadium. The Bobcats were shut out by the Frost Polar Bears 57-0 and it is the final game before the teams begin district play in a couple of weeks. It is also homecoming in Wortham this week.
