Save the date! Dewey Knit and Crochet is hosting an open house to celebrate their one-year anniversary of meeting in the Community Room at the Fairfield Library. Join them on Tuesday, September 4 from 10 am to 2 pm and enjoy finger foods, fellowship and a display of completed projects as well as works in progress.
Linda Upton, instructor and mentor of Dewey Knit and Crochet, and group members welcome all interested ladies and gentlemen, regardless of skill level. Never had a hook or needle in your hands before? Come learn from loving women who are themselves at different skill levels. You’re an expert knitter? Come share your experience, help new knitters, and participate in the fellowship of other crafters.
While you have your calendar out marking important dates, mark down a book sale on September 7 from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. The library is raising funds to purchase a new steel book cart. There is a wide selection of children’s books, adult books, and puzzles. We hope to see you!
Speaking of the library’s Community Room, did you know that it is available to anyone in the community to hold meetings, have an informal gathering, conference calling, etc. If you haven’t been to the library in the past year, please come check out the facility. There are nice tables and chairs that can be arranged to suit your specific needs, a large screen TV for high-tech presentations, counter and sink to accommodate snacks and drinks. The Community Room is available by appointment during or after regular library hours at inexpensive rates. Please ask the friendly person at the Circulation Counter for more information!
On a parting note the Fairfield Library Association and library staff would like to express their hearty thanks to Rachel Bossier for personally re-striping the parking lot. She provided the equipment, materials and labor! We would like to remind visitors that the driveway between the library and the Elementary School is one-way south from the back parking lot toward Main Street for safety purposes.
New things are always in the works to make the Fairfield Library a “go to” place for you and your family. Remember to check out the Fairfield Library page (Facebook.com/FairfieldTXLibrary) every week for fun-filled photos of the weekly Story Time, see what events are coming up, and visit our website for additional information and latest updates (https://www.fairfieldtxlibrary.org/).
