Come to Fairfield Market Days this weekend for Cornerstone BBQ Cook-Off and FREE Community Lunch.
Held Friday-Sunday, August 25-27, this monthly event offers Indoor and Outdoor shopping at the historic W.L. Moody Reunion Grounds.
ZThese special events are being held this Saturday, in conjunction with Fairfield Market Days.
BBQ Cook-off and Community-wide Lunch
The cook-off include Beef Brisket, Pork Ribs, Cook’s Choice and Chicken; and is a SAUCE Optional competition to be judged by various community members.
Teams may begin cooking on Friday, August 25, 2017.
Judging will start at 9:45a.m. with Cook’s Choice; 10:15 a.m. for Chicken; 11 a.m. for Pork Ribs; and 11:45a.m. for Beef Brisket.
Trophies will be given to the top three winners in each category and a Best-Over-All.
All meat cooked will be used for the luncheon to be served at 12:30 p.m. at the Conference Center; and will include sides and a drink.
Lunch is FREE to all in the community to enjoy on a first- come, first- served basis until there is none left.
Chicken for the cook-off is being donated by, Paul Kennedy of Depot X. Pastor Robert Smith with River of Life Community Food Pantry is donating bottled water.
Splash Day
Splash Day has been canceled due to the weather. Event is being rescheduled for Saturday, September 9th.
Shopping
Each month, Fairfield Market Days vendors offer such things as Arts & Crafts, Jewelry, Bling, Clothing, Food, Furniture, Antiques, Fresh Produce, Tools, Toys and more.
Market Days will open Friday, August 25th with limited vendors from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m.
All vendors will be open for business on Saturday, August 26th from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, August 27th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Admission is free of charge.

All vendors are expected to stay until closing.
Next month will include a special Market Day weekend on September 8-10 that will coincide with the Fairfield City Wide Garage Sale and the 26th American Heritage Coon Hunt and Bench Show.
Upcoming dates include Sept. 8-10, Sept. 22-24, Oct. 27-29, Nov. 17-19, and Dec. 15-17. Coon Hunt & City Wide Garage Sale (September 8-10).
