Twenty-three scarecrows have been installed on the light poles surrounding the Freestone County Courthouse square in downtown Fairfield, Texas.

Now, it’s up to the community to decide their favorites.

Local businesses and organizations are competing in the Third Annual Scarecrow contest, sponsored by the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.

This year, the winner is your choice!

Everyone is invited to come out, view the scarecrows, and decide on your favorite.

Take note of the light pole number (located at the bottom of each pole).  Then head to a nearby voting location to cast your ballot.

Votes are being collected at the following:

–Freestone County Times

–Brenda’s Closet

–Kennedy’s Korner

–Thee Juice N-Aid

–Accessories, Etc.

–G-Bar Western Flair Boutique

–Armadillo Emporium

With the rainy weather expected all week, Facebook users don’t even have to venture out.  Simply go to the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce page to view the 2018 Community Scarecrow photo album and hit the “like” button on the picture of your favorite scarecrow.

Winners of the Scarecrow Contest will be announced during Fairfield Fest – Downtown Market on Saturday, October 20th at 1:00 p.m.

Good luck, everyone!
