Our former president Donald Trump has always been bombastic, outrageous and forceful in his rhetoric.
His supporters love that about him. His detractors, not so much.
Whether you think he represents the best of us, or the worst, what transpired this weekend is unacceptable.
Violence is not welcome in our election process, and it angers me that a young man chose to take that route.
I am sure that everyone has their opinions about his reasons, the actions that have led us to this place, and what should be done to prevent future occurrences.
My response this week will be to take a step back from commenting on politics, as I do not want to add to the cacophony.
We are beyond grateful that the shooter was unsuccessful in this assassination attempt, and our hearts go out to the victims who weren’t so lucky.
May we all find our way to a more peaceful week.
