Just In:  Fairfield Lady Eagles move on in the playoffs to play Venus on Friday, February 15th at Navarro College.

The Fairfield Lady Eagles completed the district season with a perfect 8-0 record with a dominating win in the regular season finale over winless Madisonville at the Johnson Activity Center.

Fairfield continued using a stifling presence on the defensive end of the court to smother the Lady Mustangs in the 64-29 win. Braden Bossier began the game with eight points in the first period and Jada Clark scored off of a steal and went the length of the floor. Jarahle Daniels hit a three pointer and the Lady Eagles had a big first period lead 15-6.

Madisonville hit only one shot in their first eight of the second period while the Lady Eagles heated up the nets with five of seven early in the period. Clark and Kayelee Adams scored and Bossier and Breyunna Dowell controlled the boards. The Lady Eagles scored 19 points and the lead extended to 34-14 at the half.

Josey Richardson, Bossier and Dowell each scored in third period and then they scored on three straight possessions to blow the game open. The fourth period was ball protection and running out the game clock for the big win.

Bossier scored 23 points and added 11 rebounds. Fairfield wins the district with Mexia, Palestine and Rusk taking the final three playoff spots. Fairfield will take on the Carthage Ladydawgs on Monday night at 6pm at Rusk High School.
