Cities and School Districts will be holding elections across the state on May 7, 2022. Early voting will begin April 25th.
In Freestone County, that will include the cities of Fairfield and Teague, as well as Fairfield ISD.
All other entities had only the incumbents to file with no opposition, so elections are expected to be canceled during their next meetings.
Below are the final lists of candidates to file this year:
Fairfield Council
Mayor: Kenneth Hughes (incumbent)
Place 1: James Tyus
Place 2: Arland Thill (incumbent), Conrell Lockett, III and Roger McDaniel Keeton
Teague Council
Mayor: James Monks (incumbent) and David Huffman
Place 1: Jerry Ballew (incumbent) and Garland Steed
Place 3: Marilyn Michaud, Lois Ann Mims, and Douglas Allen
Wortham Council
3 Council Members at Large: All three incumbents filed as candidates with NO opposition. They are Susan Gibbs, Michael Busby and Jeff Carr.
Streetman Council
Mayor: Johnny Robinson (incumbent)
2 Commissioners at Large: Heather Davis and Barbara Polk (both incumbents)
Fairfield ISD Board
3 Places At Large: Greg Gipson (incumbent), Kim Whitaker (incumbent), O.B. Utley (incumbent), Penny Robinson Meredith, Cody Roller, and Josh Carlson.
Teague ISD Board
2 Places At Large: Brian Bowers (incumbent) and Jeff Gonzales (incumbent)
Wortham ISD Board
Place 3: Brent Jones (incumbent)
Place 4: Sam Wright (incumbent)
