On Sunday September 4th at the 9:00 a.m. service Trinity Lutheran will be welcoming their new vicar Jeff Salomon. Jeff is attending Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. Concordia Seminary is affiliated with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, a worldwide organization of Lutherans of which Trinity Lutheran Church is a member. He will be serving by filling the pastoral vacancy at Trinity while completing his education. The members at the church voted this summer to call him to this role and will be holding a welcoming reception for him and his family at 10:30 a.m. following the service.
Jeff Salomon is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Texas. He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in mining engineering from Virginia Tech. He is also employed at the Big Brown Mine. He is joined in Fairfield by his wife, Rachel, and their three children.
Trinity Lutheran Church is committed to teaching the three solas (Latin for alone) of the Christian faith. We are saved by God’s grace alone. Which is obtained through faith in Jesus Christ alone, and we learn these truths from Scripture alone. When asked about this vicar Jeff said, “The Lutheran faith is beautiful in that it believes in the inerrancy of the Bible and that from it we learn that we are justified by our faith in Jesus. No one can earn their way to heaven so those of faith have nothing to fear.” Please join with the congregation in welcoming Jeff to this new calling and praying for him and the church as they go forward with the grace of God.
