On 6/22/23 Officer Beaver and Officer Ashley conducted a stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver was traveling from Kansas to Houston to pick up a family member.
Officers advised the male appeared to be nervous and was attempting to get them to end the traffic stop.
The driver was in a rental vehicle. It was also discovered it was rented by a third party.
Due to the driver having a suspended driver’s license officers made the decision not to let him continue on to Houston. The driver was advised his vehicle was going to be towed.
While the vehicle was being inventoried officers found 8 pill bottles that contained various pills. Officers discovered the pills were all Oxycodone 15mg. None of the pill bottles had labels on them.
The male driver claimed those were not his.
The pills were weighed at 156.99 grams.
The driver was placed under arrest for possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 4G<less than 200g. He was transported to the Freestone County Jail. Great job by Officer Beaver and Officer Ashley.
