Wortham High School sent thirty-one students to Axtel on Monday, March 21, 2022, to compete in the District 2A UIL Contest.
Out of those participants, fifteen are advancing to Region UIL. The top three medalists in each event advance to Regionals.
These include: Mika-Lyn Gargis, Cade Duncan, Cate Samford, Michelle Misini, Madison Newhouse, Dalen Coker, Donald Rosencrans, Trett Carroll, Brenna Lewis, Veronica Gutierrez, Sierra Davis, Kaylee Calame, Dana Calame, Donald Rosencrans, and Jacob Heller.
WHS also came away with the 2nd Place plaques for the District Meet.
Regionals will be held at Panola College in Carthage on April 22-23.

–Ready Writing: 5th Place Madison Newhouse
–Biology: 1st Place Cate Samford and Cate was 3rd overall in Science
–Social Studies: 3rd Place Veronica Gutierrez, 5th Place Donald Rosencrans, and 6th Place Michelle Misini
–Spelling and Vocabulary: 3rd Place Brenna Lewis and 6th Place Dalen Coker
