Signing a proclamation recognizing the Fairfield History Club on the occasion of their 100th Anniversary is Freestone County Judge Linda Grant. PROCLAMATION

Be It Proclaimed:

Whereas, One hundred years ago today, on March 19, 1925, seventeen aspiring women came together to organize The Fairfield History Club for purposes of intellectual and social improvement; and

Whereas, the Fairfield History Club is a charitable organization, whose focus is on social improvement, education, historical preservation and the development of its members for community service; and

Whereas, in 1927 the Fairfield History Club joined the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, an international organization dedicated to community improvement and volunteerism, to thereby strengthen their efforts with like-minded women around the world; and

Whereas, over 440 members of the Fairfield History Club have committed themselves to serving their families, their churches, and the world lying outside themselves for over 100 years; and

Whereas, their leadership, enthusiasm, and determination have brought visible and necessary improvements to our community; now

Therefore, on behalf of the citizens of Fairfield and Freestone County I, Linda Grant, County Judge, do hereby congratulate the Fairfield History Club for its many accomplishments on the occasion of the Club’s 100th Anniversary.
