The West Trojans held the Teague Lions offense in check and claimed the top seed for the playoffs out of District 9-3A Division I.

The Lions could not get any offense rolling against a tough West defense.  They got to the 100-yard mark off offense midway through the fourth quarter on a long run by Azaya Patrick that produced a touchdown.

It was the defense that put points on the board first.  Tyler Kaluza picked off a Zack Satterwhite pass on the first possession of the game.

Weston Johnson had a pair of touchdowns in the early moments of the game, the first in the opening minute.

Guillermo Acevedo took a Satterwhite interception for a touchdown for the West defense and the Trojans never looked back.

West takes the top spot in the district race with Grandview, Teague and Whitney claiming the remaining three spots.  Teague will take on the Troy Trojans on Thursday night at 7:30 at Mexia High School.  Troy finished second to Cameron in District 10-3A Division I.  Cameron will battle Whitney and Rockdale will take on Grandview.  West will play Academy in the bi-district round.
