Teague Police were dispatched to 1091 US Hwy 84 West, Freestone Trailer Park, regarding an individual with a gun threatening suicide. Texas Department of Public Safety, Freestone County Sheriff’s Office, and Wortham Police Department responded to the location. The individual was inside his residence, refusing to come out or communicate with officers. Eventually Teague Police entered the home and contacted the individual without further incident. The gun, a 9mm pistol, was found fully loaded and ready to fire. The gun was safely secured while officers spoke with the individual, who was transported to receive appropriate care for his mental health episode.
Teague Police would like to thank the other agencies involved for their assistance with this situation. Our county law enforcement officials worked well together to resolve this volatile situation without anyone getting injured, or worse.
