Dear Teague ISD Parents and Guardians,
We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with Texas Kids Nutrition (TKN) to provide our students with nutritious meals and snacks after school. This initiative aligns with our mission to support the wellness and academic success of every child.
This program is designed to ensure that all students have access to the fuel they need to succeed, helping to reduce food insecurity in our community.
Key Program Details
100% Free to Families: We want to emphasize that this program is completely FREE to all Teague ISD families. There is no cost to you or to the district to participate, as it is fully funded by TKN’s partnership model.
What is Provided
Students will receive Nutritious Meals & Snacks that are USDA-compliant. The TKN mission is to provide “Nutrition + Enrichment” to fuel student success.
Benefits: This program not only provides healthy food but also strengthens wellness, supports academics, and encourages family/community engagement.
Start Dates and Locations
Starting Monday: Teague Junior High (TJH) and Teague High School (THS)
Starting Tuesday: Teague Elementary School (TES)
This program will run every Monday through Friday when school is in session. Students will receive meals to take home at the end of the day. It is our hope that this will help with the gap in the Federal SNAP Program; in addition, all students are eligible for these meals.
A huge shoutout to Mrs. Adams, Mrs. Evans, campus administration, and the food service department for assisting and finding this program.
