Teague High School campus was put under lockdown for a short time on Monday afternoon in order to respond to a potential security threat. The issue was resolved quickly.
Here is the notice that went out to parents:
At approximately 2:50 p.m. today, we received information relating to a gun incident off campus last night. At that time, the security team initiated a search of the individual involved in the off-campus incident.
The security team, made up of school personnel and the Teague ISD Police Department, found a weapon in the backpack of an individual on the Teague High School Campus.
A lockdown was initiated as soon as the information was presented to us.
At this time, there is no further threat.
