Lady Lions

District 18-3A released their All-District Awards last week and the Lady Lions received several awards.

The Lady Lions ended their season in the regional quarter final to Grandview and they finished district play 12 – 0 and 30 – 3 overall.

“Our season started strong then the injury bug hit us but our kids battled all year and different ones stepped up all year and I’m proud of these young ladies,” says Coach Nickleberry.

Earning All-District Honors include:

–District MVP – #4 Kadaja Nickleberry, Sr.

–Offensive MVP – #23 Destanee Roblow, Jr.

–6th Man Award – #11 Madison Steen, Sr.

–Coach of the Year – Chris Nickleberry

–1st Team All-District – #15 Cady Drake, Sr. and #21 Kennedy Bennett, Jr.

–2nd Team All-District – #2 Zytaria Herod, Sr.; #5 Mallorie Sims, Jr.; #12 Caelyn Thompson, Sr.; and #1 Ashley Nickleberry, Sr.

Honorable Mention – Macy Guerrero, Meeyah Davis, and Zareay Nelms.

Named to the Academic All-District include: Ashley Nickleberry, Zy Herod, Macy Guerrero, KaDaja Nickleberry, Mallorie Sims, Madison Steen, Caelyn Thompson, Cady Drake, Kennedy Bennett, and Meeyah Davis.
