Following a closed Executive Session, Fairfield ISD School Board Trustees voted to appointed Eric Chavers and Blake Robinson to fill two vacant board positions during last week’s meeting on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.
The positions became vacant with the resignations of OB Utley and Kirby Flandry in July.
Chavers and Robinson will serve their position until the May 2024 election.
Also during the meeting, FISD Trustees approved a resolution to terminate and redeem certain outstanding bonds. The resolution will allow the district to pay of existing debt sooner, saving Fairfield ISD over $1.8 Million.
A Public Hearing was conducted for the Budget and Tax Rate, with no public comments received.
The board approved a deficit budget of $135,378 for the 2023-2024 school year.
They also approved a tax rate of $0.9776 which marks a savings from the previous year.
