Fairfield, Teague, and Dew Volunteer Fire Departments worked hard to extinguish a large vehicle and grass fire caused by an overturned fuel tanker truck on FM 488 on Thursday, October 26, 2017.
The call came in about 9:45 p.m. that evening; and final clean-up was completed around 3:45 a.m. Friday morning.
Waco Hazmat was called out to help safely clean up the spilled and burned gasoline and diesel.
The driver of the truck was taken from the scene by air ambulance with unknown injuries.
Also responding to the scene were Fairfield EMS, Texas DPS, and Freestone County Constable Precinct 1 – Buck Bonner.
Official cause of the wreck is not known as of press time.
