Offering a cup of tea to Fairfield Police Officer Albert Gallegos, Jr. is Kellie Hodnett, who invited the community to an impromptu Tea Party in the middle of Mount Street the evening of Thursday, August 2, 2018.
Among those attending included Freestone County Sheriff Jeremy Shipley and a few of his deputies; Fairfield Mayor Kenny Hughes and his wife, Nicole; Fairfield Councilman Keith Daniels; Fairfield Public Works Director Clyde Woods; Fairfield Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Brenda Pate; Fairfield business owner, Mary Small; Freestone County Times Editor, Karen Leidy; and several friends and colleagues.
The photo-op is being used by Hodnett as an entry for an international, online Scavenger Hunt.
Hosted by Gish.com, this annual event is in its eighth year. Chief Rabble-Rouser is Misha Collins, actor best known for his role as the angel Castiel in TNT’s Supernatural.
People from over 100 countries have participated in “the good hunt” by uploading photos and videos of unusual items and challenges.
Hodnett ‘s 15-member team include “Gishers” from the DFW area, and several states.
Some of her entries included handing out compliments from a “food” truck and shooting a traffic cone into space (with a model rocket).
In addition to the fun, Gisher teams also raise money for charity.
This year’s fundraising goes toward Lucky Dog Animal Rescue. Gishers have also given to their local food pantries, donated blood, visited senior centers, and more.
Thanks to all the City and County officials who joined in the fun.
