Sylvia Mary Wilson joined the Kingdom of Heaven on May 10, 2024. She was born July 12, 1938 to Louie (King) and William Frederick Wyatt in London, England. Full of love and life, she grew up in Stanmore, Middlesex England during World War II, and graduated from Harrow College in London. As an adult, Sylvia worked as a dispatcher for several trucking companies. The mother of four children, she became the bride of Robert Wilson with whom she shared 20 years of their lives. Sylvia delighted in her four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Sylvia valued her family more than anything else. She cherished her time visiting with family and friends, especially at the beach. Her sister Hazel fondly remembers a time “we were at the beach and we both got knocked down by the waves. We could not get up, every time we tried, we got knocked down again. We were laughing so hard we could hardly breathe. Some man came along and pulled us both out which made us laugh even harder.” With a sharp wit and cultured mind, Sylvia enjoyed a wide array of endeavours such as dancing, soccer, fishing, gardening, traveling, swimming, flower arranging, and word games. She had refined taste in music, often listening to opera, classical and jazz arrangements. Christmas was a special time where she shared a joyful tradition from home with her English Christmas Crackers.

A woman of faith, she was a protestant and member of the Church of England. Sylvia lived boldly and unafraid. The impact she made in the lives of others and beautiful memories she left behind will forever be cherished.

She is preceded in death by her parents Louie and Frederick Wyatt; sons Danny Wilson and Troy Wilson; brother Bryan Wyatt; granddaughter Kayla Reid; and grandson Caleb Wilson.

Sylvia is survived by daughter Debbie Reid and husband Kenneth of Teague, Tx; son Wayne Wilson of Fairfield, Tx; sisters Hazel Downey and husband Robert of Lakeland, Florida, Rita Wyatt of England; grandchildren Bobbie Morgan and husband Paul of Lufkin, Tx, Brooklynn Wilson of Baytown, Tx; and great grandchildren Coy and Isabella Morgan of Lufkin, Tx.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield, Texas.

Her granddaughter Brooklynn will scatter her ashes in her home country of England at a later date.
