Susan Keller Myers passed into the arms of the Lord on October 8, 2022. She was born on July 3, 1956 to John H. And Betsy Keller in Fairfield Texas. She was 66 years old.
Family and faith were the most important parts of Susan’s life. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Fairfield, singing in the choir alongside her mother for many years.
Susan attended school in Fairfield and graduated in 1974. She was on the girls’ basketball team and was in the band. She loved skiing, both water and snow, until her boys came long. She then turned her light, love and devotion to them. She loved being “Memaw” to her grandsons.
She enjoyed family vacations with her parents and family as well as a posse of friends.
After finishing her higher education at Sam Houston State University, Susan went to work at the First National Bank of Wortham, before working in accounting and purchasing at TXU from 1981 to 2016, and ultimately at Freestone Medical Center from 2016 to 2022 as Materials Manager. She was a lifelong fan of TCU Horned Frogs!
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Charles; devoted sons, Jordan and wife Kimberly, Andrew and wife Natalie and daughter Audra Knowles; Grandchildren Keller and Beau Myers; Jaxon French and Hardin Myers; Olivia, Tristan and Trinity Knowles; her beloved sister Carolyn Newberry and husband Scott, nephew J. Scott Newberry; cousins James Mack Strange and Mary Ann Richter; special family friend Molly Cire, and many other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. John H. Keller and Margaret Strange Keller (Betsy).
Services were held at First United Methodist Church in Fairfield on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 2 pm. Officiants were Rev. James Mack Strange of Brentwood, TN and Rev. Mike McVey from First United Methodist Church – Fairfield.
Pallbearers were Brad Franklin, OB Utley III, Don Awalt, Hugh Fryer Jr., Jeff Fryer, David Earl Jones, LaCharles Bass and Robert McAdams.
