A special guest will be joining the Freestone County Historical Commission (FCHC) for their quarterly meeting on April 2, 2019.
Betty Oglesbee is the recipient of the Governor’s Award for Historical Preservation for her work in the City of San Augustine and San Augustine County.
Mother of local pharmacist, Vance Oglesbee, Betty has been instrumental in saving several San Augustine buildings, including a library, a theater, a mission, a courthouse, and a jail.
All at no expense to the county, as Betty is notoriously successful in securing state restoration grants.
FCHC meeting will be held at the Green Barn Civic Center on Tuesday, April 2nd beginning at 7:00 p.m.
All are invited to attend.
