Stanley (Red) Nash Posted by Karen Leidy | Mar 15, 2019 | Obituaries | 0 | Stanley (Red) Nash, 71, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at his residence. Services were held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Capps Memorial Chapel with his cousin, Cindy Hardy, officiating. Interment followed at Stewards Mill Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Childs, Bruce Childs, Terry Hogan, Terry Walthall, Margie West and Leldon Childs. Stanley was born August 28, 1947 in Edinburg, Texas to parents Arthur Horace and Lydia Sue McKenzie Nash. He had been a resident of Fairfield since 1959 and was a graduate of Fairfield High School. Stanley served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of the VFW. He was retired from the Boyd Unit of the Texas Department of Corrections. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a step-father, Wayne Carroll and a brother, David Nash. Left to cherish his memory is an aunt, Shirley Hardy of Huntsville, TX; an uncle, Jerry McKenzie of Longview, TX; eleven cousins and many Freestone County friends.
