There’s a new truck in town!
Our new, large brush truck (left) has arrived, finally!
It took a long time (over ten years from the date we first applied for the grant including over 1 1/2 years to get the truck built), but it was delivered June 10 and is now a part of SOVFD’s fleet of first responder equipment.
The Texas A&M Forest Service grant paid $238,000 of the total cost of $317,000 and Freestone County contributed $23,800.
SOVFD paid the remaining $57,100 which came from your generous donations and participation in our fundraisers.
The truck will be utilized for house, auto and grass/brush fires.
This would not have been possible without the outpouring of donations and support from our friends and neighbors.
We are proud to have this beauty able and ready to serve our community, but please be extra careful during this hot, dry season so there is no need to see it in action.
