Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department is providing help with Smoke Detectors inside their service area.
All you need to do is fill out a form and email it in to Fairfieldtxfirepr@yahoo.com (Click here for a copy of the form).
Today’s modern materials used for building materials or furniture making are much more flammable than they were 50 years ago.
A room can erupt in flames, or flashover, in only THREE minutes. Flashover is when the heat inside a room becomes so high that combustible materials burst into flames.
A smoke detector, many times, can warn people to get out of the structure immediately which, in turn, saves lives. Without one, you might not have enough warning.
The Volunteers will be providing, and installing the smoke detectors after the form is filled out you will be contacted so that a time may be scheduled for the volunteer firefighters to install them.
Anyone willing to help out can purchase the smoke detectors, Kidde i9050, on Amazon and donate to the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department.
Do not forget that your smoke detector runs off a battery, and it should be replaced annually. Daylight Savings Time is the best time to schedule your annual battery changing.
