Calf Scramble will be held during the Freestone County Fair & Rodeo next month.
Winners will receive a $500 purchase certificate to be used to purchase an animal project that will be exhibited in the 2024 Freestone County Livestock Show.
Participants must be 14 years old up to 2024 seniors.
Be sure and get with your 4-H club or FFA Chapter Advisor to sign up to compete at the calf scramble Friday and Saturday night of the rodeo!
A notarized minor’s release is required with parent signature.
Each night 6 individuals will win $ 500 vouchers to help purchase animals for the 2024 FCFA.
Participants will take nothing into the rodeo arena with them. Halters will be on the 6 calves when they are release into the arena.
Each participant will attempt to catch one of the calves released. Upon catching a calf, participant is required to lead or back it across the finish line without aid.
If a participant has hold of a calf, no other participant will be allowed to touch the calf until it breaks away.
Undue roughness will not be tolerated. Poor sportsmanship automatically disqualifies scrambler.
