Youth Rodeo
Books close this Friday, June 10th at 5:00 p.m. for the annual Yates Manahan Youth Rodeo, Sponsored by Rollo Insurance and RVOS Insurance.
The annual event will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Fairfield Rodeo Arena.
Events include:
–Goat Ribbon Pulling for 6 years and under;
–Poles, Barrels, Goat Tying and Breakaway for 9 years and under;
–Girls Poles, Barrels Goat Tying and Breakaway for Girls 10-14 years;
–Boys Breakaway, Tie Down Roping, Ribbon Roping, and Chute Dogging for Boys 10-14 years;
–Girls Goat Tying, Barrels, Breakaway, and Poles for Girls 15-19 years; and
–Boys Breakaway, Tie Down, Ribbon Roping, and Chute Dogging for Boys 15-19 years.
–Team Roping for 19 years & under

Best Dressed Cowboy & Cowgirl
Register by this Friday!
During the County Fair parade on Monday, June 13, special prizes will be awarded to the Best Dressed Cowgirl and Best Dressed Cowboy.
Ages are 8 years and under. All entrants must reside in Freestone County, Texas.
Be sure to turn in your parade entry by this Friday, June 10th.
Entry forms available at Texas 99 Radio station, Fairfield Chamber of Commerce office, or The Yoakum Mercantile in Teague.
Children must be able to sit their horse themselves. They may be led by another rider (no walkers).
All horse entries must have a current Coggins.
Line up for judging is 6:00p.m. Parade starts at 7:00 p.m.

Another popular contest for the kiddos is the Stick Bull Riding and Stick Barrel Racing held at the fairgrounds following the parade on Monday, June 13 (about 8:00 p.m.)

Parade
The 100th Annual Freestone County Fair & Rodeo is less than four weeks away, and everyone is invited to join the kick-off parade on Monday evening, June 13th.
Come out and help celebrate this year’s theme: “100 Years of Tradition and Heritage.”
Always an entertaining highlight of Fair Week, the parade includes floats, bicycles, motorcycles, horses, marching bands, fire trucks and more!
With well over 100 entries expected, many old pros and a large group of newcomers, it’s sure to be a blast!
Held in historic downtown Fairfield, Texas, the parade winds around the County Courthouse square beginning at 7:00 p.m. sharp and ends at the fairgrounds where the rest of the Fair activities will take place.
Sign up for an entry with your group, organization or club for the chance to win some prize money. Entries are due by Friday, June 10th.
Awards will be given for Most Creative, Most Entertaining, and Most Beautiful parade entry.
Also up for grabs is the “Spirit of Freestone” award and trophy, presented to the entry that best represents this year’s theme.
You could earn bragging rights for the rest of the year!
Special prizes will also be awarded to the Best Dressed Cowgirl and Cowboy. All participants must turn in a parade entry form.
