Get ready for a fun-filled, Labor Day weekend!
This year’s Big T Memorial Cook-Off on September 3th & 4th will include a “Touch A Truck” event for the kids and a Doubles Disc Golf Tournament for all ages, as well as Live Music and a 42 Tournament for domino lovers.
The event will be held at the W.L. Moody Reunion Grounds in Fairfield, Texas.
Those entering the Cook-Off are encouraged to sign up during Early Bird Registration before Friday, August 20th to be entered into a drawing for a chance to win your entry fee back!

The 10th annual Big T Memorial Cook-Off is a Lonestar Barbeque Society State Championship Cook-Off which include a $15,000 payout.
Main categories include Chicken, Pork Ribs and Brisket. Jackpot categories are Beans and Cook’s Choice.
Entry fee for Main Categories is $200 per team. Jackpot Categories are $25 each.
Cook team registration is from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3rd. Cook’s meeting is at 6:00 p.m.
This event is a Great Time for a Great Cause.
All proceeds from the Big T Memorial Cook-Off benefit Golden Circle Special Needs Association and Big T’s Buddies Autism Support Network.
Both of these organizations are 501(c)3 non-profit organizations that partner together to raise money for special needs life-skills classes, special needs camps, and other charitable deeds throughout our local 5 county area.
42 Tournament
Teams or Singles are welcome to enter the 42 Tournament on Friday, September 3rd at the Green Barn (Civic Center).
Cost is $20 per person, $40 per team.
Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with Tournament play beginning at 6:30 p.m. following a reading of the rules.
Bracket will be determined by the amount of teams registered by 6:15 p.m.
Prize for First Place is cash money and a set of custom Big T Memorial 10th Anniversary commemorative dominoes.
Disc Golf Tournament
Disc Golf is coming this year to the Big T Memorial event on Saturday, September 4th.
The Big T Memorial Disc Golf Tournament will be a mixed doubles tournament that has the opportunity to introduce disc golf to a younger generation.
This will be a 15-hole augmented layout, due to other events held during the weekend.
The teams will be a “Bring Your Own Partner” format but there will be a chance for people to sign up at the table.
Cost will be $40 a team, half will go to the Big T Memorial and the other half to winner payout.
Tournament will be a flex start event, beginning at 8:00 a.m., so anyone can start at any time of the day while the Big T Memorial is going.
The tournament will follow the times of the other events; but will announce an end time based on sundown.
There is $1,000 added cash to the payout.
The teams will be mixed doubles: Adult (16+) & Child (15-)
In order to facilitate a competitive tournament, no team can use a single-player’s throw more than 2 times in a row.

Touch-A-Truck Event
Hosted by Golden Circle Special Needs Association, Touch-A-Truck is an event where kids of all ages can see, hear, smell, and touch a variety of cool trucks and other vehicles.
Event will be held at the fairgrounds from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 4th.
Cost is $5 per person (or $20 per family) to explore a fire truck, ambulance, police car, bulldozer, track hoe, tractor, dump truck, and much more!
Businesses or individuals can bring their big / cool / strange trucks and let kids get a close-up experience with vehicles that would usually be off-limits.

Kid’s Cook-Off Challenge
Have a kiddo who loves to cook? Sign up for the Kids Cook-Off Challenge held Saturday, September 4th.
This year’s Kids Cook-Off Challenge will feature boneless Pork Lion Chops.
Any kid between the ages of 6 and 17 years will be eligible to compete.
Each cook will receive six one-inch boneless pork loin chops to prepare for the judges.
In addition, each contestant will receive an 18-inch charcoal grill to use during the Challenge, plus charcoal. (The grill will be yours to take home!)
You can use your pork loin chops in any way you want – stuff them, use them to make tacos, or a sandwich – be creative!
Check-in and set up beginning at 3:00 p.m. Cooking starts at 4:00 p.m., and food must be ready by 5:00 p.m.
Cost is $25 per entry. Please register by August 30th to guarantee meat and grill.
Barbeque
Cook-Off entries will be turned in for judging on Saturday, September 4th beginning with Beans at 11:00 a.m. and ending with Brisket at 4:00 p.m.
Plate Sale will begin at 5:00 p.m., Awards announced about 6:00 p.m., and Live Music will start at 7:00 p.m.
Local Business
A Receipt Raffle will be held on Saturday evening during the Big T Memorial Cookoff for anyone to enter who can provide a receipt from a Fairfield business during the weekend of the event.
Include your business information in the Welcome Packets that each team receives on check-in day. Ad space is available at $20 for ¼ page or $15 for 1/8 page
