Freestone County Retired Teachers Association has two events coming up in September.
Event one will be held September 12, 2017.
District Texas Retired Teachers is meeting in Waco at the service center. We would like to invite everyone to come see, hear, and learn what is going on in Texas for retired teachers.
Vicki Truitt one of our TRTA lobbyists will speak on the legislative issues. LeRoy Dehaven, TRTA 2nd vice-President, and Ray Spivey from TRS will be our keynote speakers.
Lunch will cost you $7.00 and you will pay our treasurer, Mary Lee that morning and she will write one check from our group. We will have to give the district a count of those attending by September 11 at noon and you will be responsible for the $7.00 if you can’t attend.

Event two will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2017.
Freestone County Retired Teachers has a local meeting. The meeting will be held at the Navarro College Fairfield Campus building, the corner of Hwy 84 and Post Oak Street. It will start at 10:30.
The program will be presented by AMBA which is all about Texas Retired Teachers Benefits. There will be light refreshments.
If you have not paid your state dues for this year, please call TRTA or go to their website. Our local dues are $10.00 and can be mailed to: Mary Lee, 1214 US Hwy84 W, Teague, TX 75860.
