It’s back to school next week for at least two freestone county school districts, and several organizations have planned back-to-school events this month to assist families in getting ready.
THIS WEEK
Tools for School event will be held on Saturday, August 12th at the Fairfield Elementary Cafetorium beginning at 10:00 a.m. Free school supplies, lunch and basic haircuts and trims will be offered.
Caney Baptist Church on FM 833 in Streetman will host a Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 12th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Each child will receive a backpack filled with school supplies. Health checks will be available for dental hygiene, healthcare, and vision. Several fun activities are also planned for the kids. Call 903-879-0791 for more info.
FAIRFIELD ISD
Meet the Teacher night will be held Monday, August 14th at the Elementary and Intermediate school campuses. Students may bring their school supplies, meet their new teachers, and sign up for various activities. Fall Sports Photos will be taken on Tuesday, August 15th at Fairfield High School beginning at 7:30 a.m.

WORTHAM ISD
Open House for Kindergarten and First Graders will be held on Monday, August 14th from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Bulldog fans are invited to attend the Back to School Bash on Monday, August 14th in the new gym beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Open House for Elementary and Intermediate school campuses will be held Tuesday, August 15th. Junior High and High School Open House events are yet to be announced.

Community Pep Rally & Meet the Lions will be held at Lions Stadium on Thursday, August 17th beginning at 8:00 p.m.
