On May 28th, McLennan County Extension office along with multiple county extension offices will host this year’s Sheep & Goat Conference.

This program will be held at The Exchange Event Center, 300 S. Jefferson Avenue, McGregor, Texas 76657 from 8:00am-2:15pm.

Registration will begin at 7:30 am.

They will start with Dr. Andrew Roemisch, Cottonwood Creek Veterinary Hospital speaking on Managing Internal Parasites in Small Ruminants. Jr Howard, Owner/Operator will speak on Texas Solar Sheep; next there will be a panel discussion on Nutritional Needs of Sheep. Dr. Jake Thorne, Extension Sheep and Goat Specialist will discuss Types/Kinds of Sheep & Goats. David Anderson, Extension Specialist- Livestock and Food Product Marketing will present a Goat and Lamb Market Update: Price Seasonality and Opportunities. Lastly, Bill Costanzo, Program Specialist, Texas A& M AgriLife Extension will speak on Livestock Guardian Dog: Best Management Practices.
