Rose Frances Collier, age 82, of Fairfield, Texas, passed away on June 26, 2024, at Fairfield Nursing and Rehab. Rose was born on September 9, 1941, to Jacob Michael Geheb and Letha Mae Cones.

Rose is survived by her adopted daughter, Sharon John, and her husband, Melvin; her granddaughters, Tiffany Marsell and Kristina Amason; her niece, Brandi Kolander; and her cousin, Roni Foreman. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wes Collier, and her parents.

Rose was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many with her warmth and enthusiasm. She had a love for people and a zest for life that was evident in everything she did. Before her husband’s passing, Rose and Wes enjoyed camping in their RV, traveling to Canada, Mexico, and almost every state in the United States. They owned and raised greyhounds in Waco before moving to Fairfield.

After Wes’s passing, Rose continued to embrace life, taking cruises and collecting various knickknacks. She was a vibrant member of the Facebook group Galloping Grannies, where she shared her travel stories and adventures. Rose was also deeply involved in numerous organizations, including the Freestone Cancer Support Group, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, the Make A Wish Foundation, the American Cancer Society, and the Red Hat Society. She was recognized for her dedication to making children’s wishes come true, a testament to her generous spirit and loving heart.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life was held at 10am on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Fairfield United Methodist Church to celebrate Rose’s extraordinary life and the many lives she touched. Burial followed at Fairfield Cemetery.

Rose’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed.
