Road Repair Follows Last Week’s Rainfall

Rainfall in excess of six inches led to mass flooding throughout Freestone County on Tuesday, July 7, 2020.

Low-lying areas quickly filled with running water due to the heavy rains, and creeks swelled out of their banks.

Numerous roads washed out and/or had damage including:

–FM 1580
–FM 3285 – damaged put passable
–CR 111
–CR 253

Freestone County Commissioners are checking into the damages to see what repairs will be necessary to make.

Remember, never drive through water over the roadway.
