Ricky Edward Vincent, 68, passed away on September 2, 2023.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cathy Vincent, son Ross Vincent, and daughter Caycie Collins and her husband John Collins. He is survived by his siblings, Lonnie Vincent, Randy and Julia Vincent and Vicky and David Burgamy. He is also survived by grandchildren Aubrey, Kipp, Kohl, Gage, Hudson, Colten, Ada and Fisher.

Rick was born in Cedar Hill, Texas on October 7, 1954 to Garland and Marie Vincent. He graduated from Cedar Hill High School in 1973 then worked for the City of Cedar Hill until retirement in 2005. After working 30 years at the city, his coworkers became a second family to him.

He and Cathy retired to his favorite fishing lake, Richland Chambers. In 2015, he chose to live out another dream and buy land in the Butler area. He spent the past 7 years in awe of the sunrises and sunsets from his deer stand on his land.

Rick was an avid fisherman, hunter and ultimate outdoorsman but more than anything he was a family man. He was devoted to his wife, kids and grandkids throughout his life. He never missed a ballgame and was the ultimate encourager.

Rick was the life of the party and brought his infectious personality everywhere he went. He made friends, no matter his location, and maintained lifelong friendships. He was the man everyone called for advice, a listening ear or a good pep talk.

Cancer took his life far too soon and far too quickly. He will be greatly missed but his legacy will live on thru the generations.

Per Rick’s request, the family will have a memorial at Round Prairie Baptist Church Sat, Sept 9th at 10:30 a.m. followed by a celebration of life at their house. Lunch will be served, so bring your best “Rick story” as we celebrate his life and “remember when…” He also requested that people dress comfortably in colors and their best Hawaiian shirt if you feel led.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests you make donations to Freestone County Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
