Primary Elections for the Republican and Democratic parties are set for March 1, 2022 in the State of Texas. Early voting will begin on February 14th.
Citizens must be registered to vote by January 31st, in order to be eligible to vote in this year’s Primary Elections.

–To confirm your voter registration status, visit the “Am I Registered?” page set up by the Texas Secretary of State. Find it online at teamrv-mvp.sos.texas.gov/MVP/mvp.do.
–If you moved from one place to another in the same county, you can change your information online at txapps.texas.gov/tolapp/sos/SOSACManager
Ways to Register
To register to vote in Texas, simply complete a voter registration application and return it to your county election office at least 30 days before the upcoming election date. To complete an application, you may:
Complete an application using the SOS ONLINE VOTER REGISTRATION APPLICATION online at vrapp.sos.state.tx.us/index.asp. Simply fill in the required information, print, sign and mail directly to your county election office.
Request a PRINTED APPLICATION. Our office will mail a voter registration application to the address provided.
Contact or visit your local VOTER REGISTRAR to complete the voter registration process. In Freestone County, contact Election Administrator Reneé McBay at 903-389-0469 for questions.
You are eligible to register to vote if:
–You are a United States citizen;
–You are a resident of the county where you submit the application;
–You are at least 17 years and 10 months old, and you are 18 years of age on Election Day.
–You are not a convicted felon (you may be eligible to vote if you have completed your sentence, probation, and parole); and
–You have not been declared by a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be either totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.
New Voting Precinct Boundaries
Changes to the voting precinct lines were approved by Freestone County Commissioners on November 15, 2021.
The main changes include the following:
–Commissioner Precinct 1: Voter Precinct 1 has added the area north of 27 that previously was Pct 3 and has transferred most of the area of Voter Precinct 12-Liberty to Commissioner Pct 3, Voting Box 11-Butler
–Commissioner Precinct 2: Voter Precinct 5 has added area between Hwy 84 and I45 close to Fairfield area. No change Box 3 & 10
–Commissioner Precinct 3: Prior voting precinct 2 is now south of Hwy 84, east of I-45, a small area going west around 27. Prior voting precincts 13-Dew and 13-Lanely are combined
–Commissioner Precinct 4: Voting Precincts 4, 6, 7, 8, and 15 had no change. Teague and Faifield: The voter precinct line has moved.
