If you missed the first Kid Fish Clinic held in February now is time to register for the next Kid Fish Clinic. So more children and their families can safely participate in the Annual Kid Fish program during COVID-19, Fort Boggy State Park is conducting mini Kid Fish clinics and tournaments during 2021.
The next scheduled event is Saturday, June 5th! “Fort Boggy State Park’s Summer Bash Kid Fish!”, is for children ages 5-12. Children must be 5 years of age by January 1, 2021. Those who participated in the “4th Annual Kid Fish” (2/27/2021) are asked not to re-register for the “Summer Bash Kid Fish”. All participating children must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older and no more than two children per adult. Due to Covid-19, pre-registration is required (no walk-ins are allowed on the day of the event) and all participants must follow CDC and TPWD guidelines: temperature check, wear face mask or shield and practice social distancing.
To register contact Fort Boggy State Park’s office at (903) 344-1116, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday (feel free to leave a clear message with name and phone number, calls will be returned in the order they are received). Registration opens on April 14th and will remain open until sessions are filled or May 30th whichever comes first. Don’t delay in registering due to limited space. PLEASE do not re-register your child if they participated in the “4th Annual Kid Fish” on 2/27/2001 so more children can have the opportunity of participating in the Kid Fish.
Space is limited to 20 participants per session. There are two sessions to choose from: Morning session (8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.) and Afternoon session (1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
During each session children learn about safety and practice casting. They will receive an event t-shirt, rod ‘n’ reel with tackle and bait (no artificial lures allowed during the tournament), Participants will also have an opportunity to win trophies during each tournament for the largest and most fish caught. Complete tournament rules for each session will be provided with registration form on the day of the event.
The Summer Bash Kid Fish at Fort Boggy State Park is FREE for all children 12 years and younger! Park entrance fee of $3.00 per person 13 and older is required. We encourage you to purchase a park entrance pass at the time of registration.
