It is so funny to watch the cows when cold weather hits. They act absolutely different than normal.
Today, it was cold, sleet was coming down, snow came also, and the wind was blowing…the cows went wild!!
Even the Momma cows were running and kicking their heels up in the air. Either they thought they were going to get fed again or they were trying to get warm or they were just wild, wild, wild.
Of course when they are running and kicking up their heels if another cow doesn’t pay attention they most likely will be hit at some time.
Cows do not have manners and wouldn’t pull their kick even if their own calves were running beside them.
The Colonel and I were talking at the supper table tonight and he stated it would be nice if we could train the cows to hunt hogs and get rid of them.
That would be a show stopper! I do wish that would be possible as they are tearing us up out here. We will be getting game trail cameras soon.
Maybe that will help us at least run some of them off for a period of time.
No matter what problems we have…we still have fun at the Red Oak Ranch.
