I have always believed, even though I do find it easier, that windows in a truck that you roll up or down with a button is kind of not really a necessity! I have them in my truck and like I said, I believe it is easier, but it seems that when these things malfunction, they put one at a loss as to what to do! I found out for sure this past week. I was in Palestine, got out of my truck, left my purse, phone, and keys in the ignition. I had turned the truck off but pulled the key out just far enough that the annoying ding ding wouldn’t go off.
I was parked in a driveway and The Colonel was there also with his truck. I went around to the passenger side of the truck and that’s when I realized the noise I had heard earlier was the doors locking! The Colonel suggested we just come home, get the other set of keys and head back to Palestine. He just looked at me when I told him that wouldn’t work because my son who lives in Plano has my other set of truck keys. I told him to keep them until the next time he comes down and…. he hasn’t been down yet!
I called the dealer, found out they had no one who was available to come unlock my truck, but I could call the company that has my truck phone and ask them to do it. Why I hadn’t thought of that I don’t know. Thank Heavens The Colonel was with me and had his cell phone and it was charged up. The receptionist at the dealership gave me the number of the company. I called, and…that started a whole new round of problems. What was my PIN number? I didn’t even know I had a PIN number! The gentlemen told me to just give him some numbers, which I did; my address; what kind of vehicle did I have; etc. Finally, he said make sure no one touches the door handles and I will send a signal to unlock the doors. He did and it did, and I found my truck acts up now and then. I’m staying home at the Red Oak Ranch for a while!!
