We are not sure but fairly sure! that Bambi’s kids and maybe her grandkids are visiting the ranch and staying all day plus overnight. These two little ones do not seem afraid of us and that is a big factor in our belief they belong to Bambi. Bambi was the doe that had hurt a leg and was limping when she first came to the Red Oak. She would lie down with the cows, eat with the cows, and move pastures with and when the cows did. It was always a joy to see her. Suddenly, after a good long time of camping here, she was gone.

One day Bambi suddenly appeared again and had a little one with her. We knew for sure it was her because she was still limping. She and her baby stayed for quite a while and then they were gone. After another long time we had visitors! We saw two little ones down on the front in the grove of trees. It was evident that they were resting there and possibly living there. After seeing them on multiple days in the same place we realized they were, in fact, living here. The other day they ventured up to the little thicket of trees and crepe myrtle bushes and peaked around the corner watching me open the gate. They ran off when I got in the truck and started down the driveway.

They didn’t go very far though just back down to the grove of trees on the front. Their Momma came along about 10-15 minutes later and they all disappeared to the Yearling Pasture. We see the babies everyday and since they have been here for quite a while and… just because! we believe they are from Bambi’s family. Many blessings at the Red Oak Ranch.
