We’ve had several visitors the last couple of weeks. Some have been very welcomed and some were shot at! Have you ever stopped and thought about the many different kinds of adventures we go through each day? Whether we leave home or not we can still have many adventures! There is nothing that please me more than to watch the multitudes of Hummingbirds that are here this time of the year! It is a struggle sometime to keep the feeder filled. They are wonderful creatures and amazing to watch…what an adventure!! I also enjoy the little calves running and kicking up their heels and just simply playing and enjoying each and every day. They remind me of kids and when they are in a group I always think of a bunch of cousins getting together and having fun. Another adventure! We have a deer that has been hanging around here for the last couple of weeks. I am convinced it is the baby of our “Bambi” who stayed here for so long and then came back with a baby a couple of years or so, ago. This deer is alone and shows up every day! What an adventure it is to watch this graceful animal.
So much for the ones who are welcomed. We have also been having a lot of hogs, namely Boars in groups of 10 or more coming through the pasture on the same trail every other day (usually) but at different times for the last couple of weeks. I threw on my boots and got in my truck and was driving out of the driveway when I noticed this group had split and there were four Boars in another pasture. I shot at them and the race was on. Both groups took off running for the hills. I am going to set a trap for them since we now know their schedule. Oh, the adventures, good and bad at the Red Oak Ranch!
