This is a beautiful time of the year but then every season is beautiful to my way of thinking. Each season has a way of getting attention. Fall is full of color from the trees to plants. The Sweet Gum Grove not only has beautiful color from the trees but the “blanket” of leaves on the ground almost has the look of a quilt of many different colors. Besides that, the leaves after falling cover up every place the hogs have torn up! The temperatures are cooler and the frost that appears some mornings glistens when the sun comes out. People seem to smile more often.
Winter has its own beauty of frost, snow, and ice! There is nothing more peaceful than waking up to a morning covered in snow. It is all so quiet and soft. It is all about hot chocolate, a good book to read like “The Colonel of Red Oak Ranch”, after a fireplace repair the fireplace is now burning brightly while keeping the interior warm, and knowing that Christmas is coming. People hustle and bustle around getting ready for Santa.
Spring brings new life as the trees bud out, birds begin chirping, the mornings are crisp and cool, and flowers emerge from those planted a long time ago or new ones who are living proof that we came through a cold spell called Winter. Humming Birds start to arrive and the Wildflowers are everywhere. People are planting gardens and flower beds.
Summer with the sun shining most days brings a whole new way of life. Flowers abound everywhere, the grass grows so much the cows are on their own, and lawnmowers are heard every weekend. It is a time of vacations and family reunions. People seem to get together more often during the Summer and enjoy picnics and cook outs. Yes, each season has its own beauty. The Red Oak Ranch is beautiful through every season to us just as your home place is to you.
