A few weeks ago, we discovered we had company. We have a small window in the main bathroom and The Colonel kept hearing something that sounded like scratching. He finally looked through the window and saw our guest. She had bright feathers and a rather half beak and was making a nest. Well, the special thing about our guest was that she could turn around in a very short area. After about two weeks of her fiddling with her nest she took off.
We decided she didn’twant a nest there after all because there was not enough room. We stopped looking at the window and went onout our business. She was gone for atleast a week or two. We didn’t miss herbecause we figured she was just going on about her business.
Then suddenly our guestwas back again and bringing food in. Welooked a little closer (which is not easy to do). Then, The Colonel said look there and as Ilooked a little bird opened its beak and started calling for food! What a sight. Within the next few days, a couple of more birds showed up in the nestand were calling for food. It turned outthe nest was big enough for at least three baby birds. We are waiting for the first flight of all ofthem! Big surprises at the Red OakRanch!
