And the “Heat” goes on! But hey! This is July/August and it is Texas so what do we expect?!
It seems that Stone shire has decided to get a few treats every night. He might be all over the ranch and then suddenly show up in a place he has been many times. The reason for this is he knows he can get some treats from The Colonel. So, he almost always gets some Cubes. I remember when First Knight was here and he was down in the Yearling Pasture. I always went down to feed my horse and First Knight would come up to the stable to beg for some hay. I fed him hay straight from my hand and he would follow me around everywhere. When he got use to doing that I think he got tired of the routine and quit. But he would always come up to wherever I happened to be.
I know these animals are miserable in this weather but they are smart enough to know to get up the trees, especially in the Sweet Gum Grove. Sometimes they stay there most of the day. So far the water is holding out and the good news I got today was that my weather station showed rain coming! I hope that’s true.
