I have been writing this column for so long that I can’t remember if I have written about a story already. I sometimes think maybe I ought to quit writing…but I go on and on.
Do you have a husband or a wife that when the both of you are going to be going in different directions you need to have a plan all worked out so you don’t miss each other. We do that a lot, The Colonel and I, but sometimes there is a misunderstanding.
Just so you know, I am always getting lost but it is not always my fault. The Colonel will tell me what time I need to be at point X at a certain time and then he will tell me not to be late because if I don’t make that time, then it will mess up meeting someone at another time. Usually I can follow what he tells me but sometimes he runs on and on about the time, about the location, about what we are meeting for, etc. I end up over loaded with instructions, times, locations, etc. Of course, being a man, he is never late, always knows the what, who, and why to everything. But, he is good natured about it. He never gets mad at me if I don’t show up like I am supposed to. Now, understand, this is only for real important things, like going out to eat, visiting with someone, etc. How The Colonel puts up with me, I don’t know. But, I think part of not getting mad at me is because he knows I love the Red Oak Ranch as much as he does.
