WOW! What a storm that blew through here on Sunday. Out in the country we received hard driving rain, lots of wind, uprooted trees, limbs and branches down, fences needing repairing, and lots and lots of leaflets! Our front and back yards look like a war took place in them. We ended up with someone’s blue trash can in the pasture…so if it is yours please call us!
The cows were smart enough to go to the Personal Grove for shelter, Sundance, my horse stayed in her stable, and the Beagles hunkered down in their house. I felt very sorry for the little calves and for the Beagles. It must have been very frightening for all of them.
We talked with people in Palestine and they didn’t get the wind that we had. I think around this area some people didn’t get that kind of wind either. So, we have our work cut out for us for the next few weeks anyway. My beautiful red gazing ball that my sisters-in law gave me a few years back was smashed into many pieces. The cactus plants hanging in planters on the shepherd’s pole were blown off and dumped unceremoniously in the yard. But all in all, things were AOK. We were safe, the animals were safe and the house and buildings were all safe. We never lost electricity so we were happy about that too. We thank God that the Red Oak Ranch just keeps going on and on no matter what!!
