The holiday season is upon us. The Colonel is getting into the Christmas spirit! He wants to decorate everything around here because he knows I love this season and all the decorations. Now whether he does this might be another story. He did one year decorate the barn along with the house and that surprised everybody in the family. Of course, it was the first year we were married which might have had something to do with it.

Nevertheless, I am almost positive that he will come through another time with decorations that will certainly surprise me. First, though, we must get all the leaves in the yard to disappear, and I am sure that is going to take a lot of time. Trying to sneak up on the Beagles is not very easy this time of the year. They can hear us coming a mile away. They are smart enough to act surprised when they see it is us.

Sweet Pea has almost disappeared into the herd. She is no longer coming to the fence and begging. She also has some friends in the herd which helps a lot. The Beagles do not like her coming to the back gate though and they usually run her off. I think she is getting along pretty good in the herd as I don’t see a lot of cows or calves hitting around on her. One of the reasons I love this time of the year so much is that people always seem to treat each nice. Maybe the Red Oak cows and calves do the same.
