The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Chapter 1191 held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, 8 Nov 2016, at the Sirloin Stockade in Corsicana.  The guest speaker was Tracy Watson, President of the board of directors of the Rainbow Room program in Navarro County.  Ms. Watson was accompanied by her husband, Ron Watson.
Rainbow Room is a volunteer 501(c)(3) organization that supports the Child Protective Services program by providing emergency supplies for children who have to be removed from a home due to illness, neglect or other problems. Between Sept 2015 and Aug 2016 there were 45 children from Navarro County who who required emergency care outside the home. Support to Rainbow Room may be provided by volunteering, financial donations, and by contributing food, diapers, car seats, school supplies, formula, personal hygiene items, toys and children’s books, new children’s clothing, household cleaning supplies, blankets and Pack ‘n Play Portable Play Yards.  Only new items can be accepted.
