Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Limestone, Leon, Freestone, and Anderson Counties are sponsoring a “Quad County Hay Show & Educational Program” program at the Limestone County Showbarn Annex Building in Groesbeck, Texas, on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.
Registration will begin at 8:15 a.m. The program begins at 9 a.m. and will conclude after hay testing results/awards and lunch. There will be a sponsored breakfast and cold drinks as well.
There is a $20.00 fee for the program, payable at the door. We will be offering three (3) CEU’s toward recertification of private, non-commercial and commercial applicator licenses for attending the program.
If you want to enter a sample of hay into the Hay Show to be judged, please bring a sample of your hay into the Extension office of your choice (Limestone, Freestone, Leon, Anderson) by OCTOBER 1st! Please put in a paper bag and all we need is a handful and to complete our hay show sample information form available in our offices.
Speakers for the program include: Dr. Vaness Corriher-Olson – Extension Forage Specialist; Mr. Darrell Rozell – Rozell Sprayers; and Dr. Barron Rector – Extension Range Specialist will be made available throughout the morning with one on one consultations.
Topics for the program include: Managing your Grazing Calendar with Chemical Weed Control Options; Sprayer Calibration and Eliminating Spray Drift; and Weed Identification and eliminating weeds and unwanted grasses from your Hay Fields.
