A Prayer Vigil will be held Saturday evening, March 27, 2021 at the Freestone County courthouse square to intercede on behalf of DPS Trooper Chad Walker who was shot during a motor assist last night near Mexia, Texas.

According to reports, Trooper Walker sustained a gunshot wound to his head and abdomen. He was transported to Baylor Scott-White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco where he is listed in stable, but critical condition, as of Saturday morning.
Trooper Walker and his wife are parents to a 15-year-old son, twin 7-year-old daughters, and a 2-month old daughter.
